The Team
ODAIT’s team is led by the Director, Daniel MacSweeney and is made up of an administration team and a forensic team that work towards ODAIT’s mission.
The administration team looks after the collection of DNA samples from eligible family members, governance, finance, procurement, communications, human resources and records management. This team is managed by the Deputy Director, Blaithin Kennedy, Head of Operations, Selina Brogan and Head of Communications, Louise Walsh.
ODAIT’s forensic team is led by Forensic Program Manager, Oran Finegan together with Senior Forensic Consultant, Dr. Niamh McCullagh. The forensic team works across two main areas, the forensic excavation of the site of the former Tuam Mother and Baby Institution and the forensic analysis of human remains recovered from the site at ODAIT’s Forensic Facility and Mortuary in Toghermore, Tuam.
