The Institutional Burials Act 2022 was enacted to give a legal basis for the intervention at the former Tuam Mother and Baby Institution. ODAIT is authorised to intervene specifically at Tuam and does not have authority to intervene at any other institution or location. Consequently, ODAIT does not have access to records from other institutions.
